#8 The Art of Asking Questions
Our brains are like search engines. They are good at answering questions although most of the time the answers will be vague and unwise still, they are a good search engine to look for answers. In Elon Musk’s biography, he says that the toughest thing to do in life is figuring out which questions to ask and once you figure out the right questions, the answers will be relatively easy. When he was young, he asked himself what is going to be the breakthrough things in the 21st century and he found out the answers such as sustainable energy and space travel which he then pursued in his life and made him hugely successful.
This one skill or the art of figuring out the right questions are crucial in life to fulfill your potential otherwise, you will waste a lot of time in confusion and self-doubts.
I don’t have a particular example to show you how you can do this in your life because everyone’s lives are different and unique. The questions in the area you are working on and the things you want to achieve there would require asking questions that only you may know well and not the others.
But certain questions in personal life are almost common like, Are you satisfied with your life? What do you think you should immediately stop doing and start doing? What are your goals and the things you want to improve in your life? How can you achieve them? These are examples of questions you can ask yourself if you are looking forward to improving the different aspects of your life like me.
One of the crucial things to remember here is that maybe you already know answers to many of the questions and they may be good answers, but it doesn’t mean that they are the best answers, and maybe you don’t know any answers to some questions. It is easier than ever in the internet era to seek help from others in that case to make better and more accurate answers to your questions.
