#12 You will Never Regret Doing the Important Stuff

We all have dreams and goals. And we are well aware of the fact that not only having dreams and goals is going to make anything happen in our lives. We have to learn, think, plan, and execute our plans to make any dream a reality. But what most people fail at is the execution stage. They often let themselves be in a position where they spend hours and hours doing the unimportant instant rewarding stuff which we call distractions.

Although we know very well that this is not what we should be doing, we still get trapped in that loop. Have you ever had that feeling of unbearable mental pain after you spent an entire day scrolling Instagram and watching random videos on YouTube? That pain of regret is so frustrating and depressing although the activities were really fun at the moment. We get so furious on ourselves but we do the exact same thing the next day as well.

And let me ask you, have you ever regretted doing something important in your life? Have you ever thought that going to the gym was a bad idea? Have you ever regretted reading that book that you always wanted to? You know what I mean… The answer is more likely to be a No.

Even though these activities were boring and uninteresting at the time we do them, it is a great feeling when we are finished, a feeling of accomplishment and we almost rarely regret doing those activities.

The point I am trying to make here is that we will always regret doing the unimportant things and we will never regret doing the important stuff in our lives. You can use this realization whenever you find yourself procrastinating, to get yourself into action.
